Managing Team CMA Templates

This guide helps approved managers update CMA templates for their team members in Relab. This enables individual agents to get set up quickly with professional templates, while giving managers greater brand control and the ability to provide hands-on support to their teams.

How to edit a team member's template

⚠️ This feature requires manager-level permissions and a Relab Teams or Enterprise Plan. If you don't see these options, contact support@relab.co.nz to verify your access level.

Step 1: Access the template system

  1. Open or create any CMA
  2. Click Next Step to reach the CMA Studio (the final page of your CMA)
  3. Find Templates in the left navigation bar and click it to open the dropdown options

Step 2: Select the team member

  1. Click Load by Branch Member from the Templates Category dropdown
  2. Select the team member whose template you want to update from the list
  3. Their current template will open in editing mode

Step 3: Make your updates

  1. Edit pages, branding, and content as needed
  2. You can add pages, reorder them, hide pages, add images, or modify any template elements
  3. Click Save as New Template at the bottom of the left navigation panel

Step 4: Notify your team member Editing creates a new copy whilst preserving the original template. Let the team member know the new template name and ask them to delete the old version if it's no longer needed.

How to edit a branch template

Branch templates apply standardised CMAs across multiple team members at once.

Step 1: Access branch templates

  1. Open or create any CMA and navigate to the CMA Studio
  2. Click Templates in the left navigation bar
  3. Select Branch Template from the Templates Category dropdown

Step 2: Update the template

  1. Choose an existing branch template to edit or start fresh
  2. Make your updates to pages, branding, and content
  3. Click Save as New Template and give it a descriptive name

All branch members will immediately see this template in their Branch Templates section.

Use consistent naming across templates: [Level][Purpose][Version/Date]. For example, "Personal_Premium_V2" or "Brand_QuickAppraisal_2024".

Managing templates across multiple branches

If you have manager access to more than one branch, a branch selector dropdown appears automatically when working with templates. Single-branch managers won't see this dropdown - templates save directly to your branch.

Viewing templates from a different branch

  1. Open Templates in CMA Studio from the left navigation bar.
  2. Select Branch Template from the Templates Category dropdown.
  3. Click the branch selector dropdown at the top of the template list to see your available branches.
  4. Choose which branch's templates you want to view. The template list updates immediately to show that branch's templates.

Saving a template to a specific branch

  1. Click Save as New Template at the bottom of the left navigation panel.
  2. In the save dialog, click the branch selector dropdown to choose which branch should receive this template.
  3. Enter a descriptive template name (e.g. "Branch_Ponsonby_Premium_V1").
  4. Click Save. The template is immediately available to all members of the selected branch.

Understanding template types

Relab offers five template categories in the Templates Category dropdown:

My Templates Your personal templates that only you can access.

Branch Templates Templates specific to your branch location that all branch members can access.

Load by Branch Member Allows managers to access and edit individual team member templates. Requires manager-level permissions.

Brand Templates Organisation-wide templates created by HQ. Most organisations manage templates at the branch level instead, so brand templates are often not available. Brand templates only exist when a national organisation requires strict centralised control from HQ.

Public Templates Basic Relab templates available to all users.

Access requirements

This feature is only available if you meet both of these requirements:

  • Manager Access: You must be approved by your Branch Manager and have manager-level permissions for your entire team
  • Subscription Plan: You must have a Relab Teams or Enterprise Plan

If you don't see the Load by Branch Member option in the Templates Category dropdown, contact support@relab.co.nz to verify your access level.

FAQs

I can't find a team member's template - what should I do? First, confirm the team member has templates saved in Relab. If they do, check that you have the correct permissions. Only selected managers can access team members' templates. Email support@relab.co.nz if you think you should have access but don't.

Can I add two people to a CMA template? Yes, as long as the template has been created to accommodate multiple people. If it's not obvious how to do this, check with your Branch Manager or contact support@relab.co.nz.

Can I update multiple team member templates at once? Template updates must be completed individually for each team member. However, you can make updates for all branch members at once using branch-level templates, or for all branches using brand-level templates.

How long does it take for a saved template to appear in a team member's account? The template appears immediately. As soon as you save it, it's available in the team member's list of templates.

Can team members modify templates I've created for them? Yes, team members can edit any templates you've saved for them. This allows them to personalise templates whilst maintaining your baseline standards.

A team member has personalised their template - how can I update just certain pages without losing their customisations? You have two options to preserve personalised content:

Option 1 - Team member updates specific pages:

  1. Create your updated branch template with the new pages
  2. Export the specific updated pages as PDF
  3. Email the PDF to team members, highlighting which pages have changed
  4. Team members manually update just those pages in their existing personalised template

This lets them keep their customised pages whilst adopting your improvements.

Option 2 - Manager manually merges changes:

  1. Use Load by Branch Member to access their current personalised template
  2. Work with their existing template instead of starting fresh
  3. Replace only the specific pages that need updating whilst keeping their personalised sections intact
  4. Save as a new template with a clear name like "[Name]Template_Updated[Date]"
  5. Let them know you've preserved their customisations whilst updating specific sections
